Well apparently I have hundreds of stalkers because only TEN people actually entered this contest. I’d feel really bad about myself but I can see in my stats how many people actually read the blog page so instead I’m just feeling a little paranoid! That or you have no friends to send a gift to?
Alright, so the winner is………………..CATHY! who will be sending her winning package to Pam at blogcabinfever.typepad.com. A soon as I hear back from Cathy her package will be sent right out!

I got lots of goodies this week that will keep me busy for some time to come…..like I need something to occupy my time! This has been a crazier than usual week as our end of soccer season and beginning of baseball season are overlapping so literally every free moment of time was filled with something. Yesterday was the same with soccer and a wedding with other things jammed in between those two things. And most importantly it was Carter’s 7th birthday. It couldn’t have worked out any better because the usual gang of friends were all at the wedding and there was cake and a chocolate fountain and a better spread than I’d put on for a 7th birthday! And the best gift? A croquet set! And not only did he love it, but all the kids played when they came over after the wedding and had a blast. No one asked to play the Wii or do anything else, they played in the yard–and better yet no one got clubbed with a mallet!

Back to my goodies, here’s some of the fun things I’ve received…….
A needle felting book:

I got interested a few months ago and really had no idea what I was doing but made a couple little things. Also got Sublime Stitching which is just as cute as can be! I can’t wait to try the little Scottie on the cover, he’s adorable!

I also got 2 bolts of this fabric.

The blue ticking is for my kitchen chairs…..when we were young & stupid & childless we got kitchen chairs with upholstered seats. I’ve redone them a couple times already but they’re in dire need some new fabric. This time I’m covering THAT with plastic…..it may be ugly but they’ll stay clean!!
The red is for the living room. We’re looking for 2 occasional chairs to put in the living room and I want this to be the fabric. In the meantime I’m going to make some big pillows for the couches with it…..I just need to find something to trim it out with first.
Last but not least, I have been meaning to share a quick little trip I took a few weeks go. Mike had to be in Little Rock so I tagged along. While he was doin’ his bidness, I jetted over to the Shoppes on Woodlawn where Jerusalem and Jeanetta have the cutest little room. Unfortunately Jerusalem was in ALASKA but I got to meet the lovely & sweet Jeanetta and she gave me a tour. The whole house is packed with great things and I could’ve stayed hours and my husband called me FOURTEEN MINUTES after the meeting was set to start to let me know he was already FINISHED! I did grab a wreath Jerusalem made that literally had my name all over it before I dashed out the door.

I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time but just haven’t gotten my act together. I’ve never counted my posts to know which one was my hundredth or have any clue when my “blogiversary” is or anything like that. But I’ve wanted to do a give away for some time and then came up with this idea and just haven’t taken the time.
The difference in this give-away from others is the gift is not for YOU. If you win, you will chose someone that I will send it to. Kind of a pay-it-forward. We all know someone who is going through a loss, a divorce, an illness, financial woes, etc. Or even just a hard working single mom, teacher, nurse….someone who doesn’t get the credit they deserve. Imagine having a bad day (or week, or month!) and getting a lovely box of pampering goodies on your front step like this?
So what I’d like you to do is leave your comment and the name of the person you’d chose to send the box to if you won. You can tell their story if you like, but the winner will be chosen randomly!
I will keep this going until next Friday and then we will chose the name and send out the package by Monday the 5th….could make a perfect Mother’s Day gift as well!!
Here’s the goodies. We’ll wrap them up and make them pretty. It’s over $50 in merchandise and includes a sleep mask, wonderful French Olive Oil Soap (I have some, it’s heavenly!), tea bags for the eyes, a huge grapefruit bath bomb, and a vanilla orchid soy candle.

I’ve started to write probably every day this week. Monday a rotten customer (I use that word loosely :-p), put me in a rotten mood for much of the day. Tuesday was a “me” day off which included buying a suburban load of flowers for the Village and my planters. I have no recollection of yesterday and Thursdays are a short day for me at the shop too–I go to school and work in Carter’s classroom. Everything is a blur this time of year, there’s something every day with the kids. My girlfriends & I have also been walking every evening 2-3 miles so I’m much more tired than usual when I get into bed. I’m only here now b/c my nails need to dry!!
We don’t have a lot of new stuff to gab about. We’re expecting a big order we’re importing from the UK soon and are really excited about it though. I can’t wait to share it all, it just screamed “Feather Your Nest”. While not new to FYN, we did get a new category of Anne Taintor on the web site again. I absolutely love her sense of humor, right up my alley. Living with 3 boys, I quoted this magnet every day until I finally had to take one home and put it on my fridge:

Have a great weekend!

I had intended on sitting down and writing a nice long update and sharing photos and other new merchandise. But it’s late, I have to be out the door at 8:30 tomorrow morning for a day at the soccer fields. Typically the kids play close together but I’ll be there 9am to 3pm for just 4 games that are spread out painfully far apart.
We got these key fobs in this week and I just adore them. I immedately sold one after taking this photo, they weren’t even priced or put out yet!!! I also had to take one for myself. I bought one last year from another lovely person and I’ve loved it but unfortunately I picked a very girly, frilly, flowery one that got filthy and my husband refused to touch!! These will fit on most wrists and while moms are great at juggling, it will give you a free hand (or fingers at least!) back.

I have to share some of the cute things I’ve bought myself of Etsy over the last month. The first is this print from Carla Sonheim. I’ve been drooling over these prints for ages. I had a hard time justifying the need for one but I’m going to hang it on the wall of my ugly office to help pretty it up a bunch. I finally chose this girl with her kitties and waited patiently for her to add another one with light hair.

Then surfing around on Flickr I came across Amy Burhoe Designs and fell in love with her fused glass rings and bought myself this one on Etsy……

which, I know, she has ALL these bright cheery colored ones, which is what drew me to them, and then I chose a "blah" one. But you see, all my clothes are black….or gray….or light gray…..and I know that’s something I need to break out of a *little* but I figure this will match my clothes and I’ll keep watching her Etsy site for more I can’t live without!

I promise every post I make for the next 6 weeks won’t be about me having spring fever but I swear it’s all I think about!!! Today I stayed home ALL day. I honestly cannot think of the last time I didn’t leave on a week day. If it weren’t for Carter having a dinner & performance (for school) tonight, I might not have left at all. It’s not just the outside raking, planting, sun stuff but I’m nesting and cleaning and doing things on the inside as well. Lots of little projects but honestly nothing I find exciting enough to talk about.
Right now my aunt is here visting from Utah, my brother flies in Friday, and next week is the boys’ spring break, so I’ll probably go missing another 10 days or so. I’m definitely motivated to clear off my craft table and do something fun, so I’ll have things to share I hope!!
