I really love all this fun pottery and even own some of the pieces purchased years ago at other stores. For various reasons I just hadn’t gone through with ordering any before. Some of the pieces sold out before we could even get them up on the web site, so we’ll be ordering even more soon. Hopefully adding some of the other fun colors they also make.

The boys are back to school this week and fall products started arriving today….I’m actually kind of late in the retail world but otherwise I just start to hate it all so I do it my way. Look for some cute Halloween & fall products coming to the web site soon.

I’m poking out for a minute to share a blog giveaway that Lindsey is putting on through tomorrow featuring some of our melamine plates. I think she was a bit hesitant telling me about her blog, saying it was “nerdy” or something to that effect but HELLO, I am totally nerdy!!

We just returned from a little trip to Chicago and I’m playing catch up. We had a great trip, and the weather was *fabulous*….70’s and I was even cold at times and we got home late last night. Today was Avery’s school registration and tomorrow is Carter’s open house so it will be busy the next few days but I hope to spend any extra time finishing uploading some new pottery and other gifts to the site that are really cute. In the meantime, I’m going to crawl into bed and watch the Olympics for the rest of the evening!

Next weekend, August 1st and 2nd, is the annual Yards & Yards of Yard Sales in Eureka Springs. Typically there are over 75 yard sales going on city-wide. I’ve found some great treasures at them and think it’s a great weekend to visit Eureka (okay, you have to ignore the heat and opressive humidity!).

In trying to kill the last, slow 30 minutes of the day, I read on Sara and then Kari & Kijsa’s blogs that there was a Pet Show going on over at Nancy’sMy Crafty Little Page. I just happened to be dumping photos off my camera so these are fresh…..

Sophie--3 months old

And here she is with her little pink frisbee. It looks like she’s doing her business here, but I assure you she was just being silly.

Sophie & her frisbee

My boys are out of town this week–went to see my brother in DC. So Sophie was the only one around to get her photo taken last night as we ran around the yard. You would think it would be quieter around my house but it’s not at all the case. Sophie & the cats are fighting like…well, cats & dogs. It’s constant running through the house. And last night I cleaned the kitchen and took the oilcloth tablecloth off the table and put down a pretty, old, linen, embroidered tablecloth. When I came down this morning it was ON THE FLOOR with two guilty looking cats nearby. Which I don’t have any recent photos of them, they’re never still long enough.

The fabulous Gabriela Delworth awarded me with this:

The rules for receiving this award are:
1) Put the logo on your blog.
2) Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4) Add links to those blogs on yours.
5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

Now that I am finally caught up after the 3 day weekend, I’ve had to make the difficult decisions of who to pass it on to. Here are my choices in no particular order:

Julie at Jane’s Apron
Mary at South End Blend
Kim at Scrap to my Lu
Jeanetta at Splendid Things
Lidy at French Garden House
Barbara of Barbara Jacksier
Jenn at Noodle & Lou

*whew* That was way harder than it looked! I have over 350 blogs in my Bloglines feeds….and no I really don’t have the time to read them all and thankfully more often than not most are like me and cannot possibly post more than once a week!

In all of the great big blogosphere, there are so many amazing blogs. I’ve got several of my faves listed on my blogroll over to the right there but I’ve wanted to share my all time favorite for quite some time now. It’s called Not Always Right: Funny & Stupid Customer Quotes. It’s a site filled with contributions from people’s daily dealings working with the general public. Keep in mind this is a relatively new blog and this only represents probably 1/10000000000 conversations that go on like this on any given day.

I think having grown up in a tourist resort and from always having a job from a very young age that involved working with customers, I can completely appreciate every dumb comment listed on this site. I know I’ve even forgotten (or blocked out??) some of the crazy things I’ve heard and at one point (years ago) a co-worker and I wrote them all down in a notebook, but who knows what became of it. I typically have my instant messenger on throughout the day and today passed on a dumb comment to my friend Jenn that a woman made earlier this morning. She told me “That one may take the cake.” Until I told her what someone did yesterday and that one beat today’s! By a landslide even.

I hope this doesn’t come across badly. I do love the majority of the people that I come across each day. You just can’t believe though how one stupid/ugly/rude/ignorant person can ruin what 100 lovely/kind/normal can say or do though.

Some time or another I signed up for e-mail updates on the web site of my favorite illustrator, Tasha Tudor. I sadly received an update this morning that she had passed away at the age of 92. It made me SOOO sad for some reason but it seems there has just been a rash of sad news lately: Tim Russert, Floods in Iowa–including a friend’s shop, a friend of a friend having a really awful run of bad luck & deaths in her family, there’s bad news every day.

Tonight I went to the boys’ room and pulled all the Tasha Tudor books off the book shelf–all of which were mine as a child except for 1. I don’t think boys appreciate it nearly as much….although they do love the more recent Corgi books she’s done. But for a half an hour I made them sit and put up with some of her lovely illustrations & stories.

The June 2008 issue of Wondertime Magazine featured our adorable little felt bags in their “Stuff We Love” section.

Feather Your Nest in Wondertime Magazine

I have to agree! They are just too sweet. As I’ve noted, there aren’t a lot of little girls in my life and we’ve all produced boys, but the few girls that we do know have their own little felt purses!

Kitchen Gloves & matching Scrubbies!

Look at yummy new colors of kitchen gloves that we received this week. After I photographed them originally, I noticed some of them matched our scrubbies perfectly!
